Closing of the acquisition of ECI-Distribution GmbH and PowerUp GmbH
- Strategic acquisition expands competence and service portfolio

INNIO announces that the acquisition of ECI-Distribution GmbH and PowerUp GmbH, announced on November 4, 2020, has been completed effective December 1, 2020.
The energy technology company ECI-Distribution GmbH, which was acquired by INNIO, covers numerous parts of the gas engine value chain. They produce state-of-the-art components for reducing emissions and increasing the efficiency of gas engines. Founded in 2014, the company also has a worldwide distribution network.
By the same token, the acquisition of the internationally active PowerUp GmbH will allow for the continued expansion of customer-specific overhauls and upgrades of gas engines, as well as cogeneration plants, at the brand new workshop site in Stans, Austria. The focus is on increasing the assemblies’ efficiency, performance and dependability.

The previous owners are the managing directors of ECI-Distribution/PowerUp, Eugen Laner, Thomas Achrainer and Norbert Rupprechter, their silent partners, as well as ECI Manufacturing and PGES GmbH. The acquired companies will continue to be managed by the managing partners as independent companies.
